Before and after Master Bedroom

I can't tell you how good it feels to be in our home.
The holidays came and went and I might post some of the pictures that I took around the house during Christmas...next Christmas.  It was beautiful but I'm pretty much tired of all the holiday decor pics so I decided that I would share 1 room at a time with you.  Perhaps you will be inspired by something and copy it for your own space.
Not too much going on in here before the furniture arrived.   This year we decided to increase our bed size to a king.  I had ordered my mattress from the online company called Saatva.  So far I'm liking the bed but I might need to swap it out for a Plush instead of a medium firm.  The mattress is very nice though.  You should definitely check them out if you are in the market for a bed.  Anyhoo,  I found the bed itself on Craigslist.
I really liked the way it was but their precious 2 year old had chewed on the foot board when she was teething and they had sanded in down.  I just decided to paint the bed since I was going for a light relaxing atmosphere.  I didn't want any dark heavy looking furniture in the space so this bed worked out well.  It has been to chilly here to use my paint sprayer on the bed, so yes I used a brush to paint each one of those spindles.... not a fun job! Took me about 4 hours to do the bed, but it was so worth it.  I love the way it turned out.
The shelf above the bed is actually a piece off of an old piano... (Thanks Cindy, Kent and Kelly!)   The corbel's were found last year at a Salvation Army, I believe I only paid 3.00 a piece.  This was the last room that I decorated when we moved in because I was having trouble finding a bed that we both liked.  I love that this one has the tall headboard but it isn't too ornate.

I added the paint to the shutters and hung them on either side of an old winding that I turned into a mirror.
This was a fun space to work on and it feels so relaxing in here.
The cool blues sprinkled through out with some grays and white just gives off a very peaceful vibe.  Just what I was hoping to accomplish.
Well that's it for this space.  I will share the spare bedroom next time.    Thank you for taking the time to visit my little blog and I hope to post a little more regularly this year... we will see how that goes.
Blessings to you,
